Sunday, Feb. 16th - PARIS

We arrived in Paris today.  It's the start of our two-week European press tour.  After a couple of hours waiting at the airport for our luggage, we were off in a small van (small van, large luggage) to our fabulous hotel.

Of course our rooms weren't ready, so we all went for a nice brisk, LONG walk down the Champs-Elysees to the Louvre.
It was a beautiful cold day and the old Parisian buildings looked like wedding cakes!

Trying to avoid the onset of jet lag, we are ready to go out again into the streets of Paris and WAKE UP!  It's great to be back here again.  Tomorrow will be a day full of press and TV.  We'll let you know how it's going in a few days....

Bye for now.

Saturday, Feb. 22 - GERMANY

Hey there,

Well, it's been a while since I've written, as our schedule in Germany has been incredibly busy.  The response to "Something That You Said" has been AMAZING!  Next week, it will be CD of the Week on all major radio stations in Germany !  Pretty f#%*@ing amazing!!

Actually, I've been sick since we first came to Germany on the 17th, so it's been a bit difficult dealing with that aspect.  We've done many interviews and a few TV shows. We came to Berlin on the 17th from Paris .  It was cold and snowy, which was kind of cool since I haven't seen snow in AGES!  On Tues. the 18th, we had loads of interviews to do, PLUS an acoustic performance on the radio.

Then we went to a really fascinating doll shop to do an interview.  There were some truly scary dolls!!  But it was quite magical walking into that shop with the snow falling around us.

Also, it's quite incredible that the area it was in used to be East Berlin .  I hadn't been there since the mid-Eighties with the Bangles.  It's quite a different place here now.

On the 19th I felt REALLY ill after having traveled 3 hours late in the evening by van to Hamburg .  I had a fever, but still managed to get the energy up to do an acoustic performance.  However, after that I had some much needed sleep while the other girls did more interviews.  Then, we flew to Cologne (Köln).  We stayed at a converted water tower which was fascinating.  It's one of those kinds of hotels that look brilliant, but aren't very comfortable or practical.  The next day (20th) was another very busy one.  We had a lot of interviews and another acoustic performance.  I was feeling a bit better, but sounded congested!  We also did a performance on the German TOP OF THE POPS show.

All in all it was a very long day and by the time we did the live radio show (Einslive) at the end of the evening, we were exhausted and a bit brain dead. It's been pretty hard being away from my son, especially because he's been quite sick at home.  I didn't think I'd miss him as much as I do!!  But, I've been able to talk to him and my husband, so that helps.  Also, knowing that my son is feeling better now also makes this a bit more bearable.

On the 21st, we flew back to Berlin and had more interviews (not as many).  Mainly, we rehearsed for the TV show WETTEN DASS and that took up quite a bit of time.  After that, we went back to the hotel and had a nice dinner. Today, the 22nd, has been quite easy.  I got a chance to work out at the gym (with my manager, Jennifer) and relax a bit, plus put this down on paper.  I only had a couple of interviews and then we go later to tape the WETTEN DASS show. Poor Vicki is feeling awful now.  So she's having a quiet day.  Michael 's been shopping, and Susanna had a great workout this morning too.  We all had a light day today with interviews. We fly to London tomorrow and are there ‘til the 28th or March 1st.  It'll be nice to stay in the same place for a few days.

Germany 's been great, though.  Much better than I remembered.  The people have been wonderful and our record company has done a stellar job with everything!  We are very happy about the response to our record!  It's quite exciting.  Nice to be back.... Anyway, I will write again when we get to the land of tea!

Bye!
