May 2004 ARCHIVE: Susanna's iPod Music's in her blood, so it's no surprise that Susanna's packed her trusty iPod with songs for every occasion. With a storage capacity of over 7,000 songs, she's got a soundtrack on hand for everything from treadmills to jogging through the Tuileries... We asked what's spinning on the busy Bangle's digiplayer this week... It even makes ME laugh - don't think the humor is lost on me. What can I say? It's the majesty of the big movie musical! But the truth is, it's great inspiration for when you're out walking at 6:00 am, and boy do I need inspiration when I'm out walking at 6:00 am! Especially when I've been attempting to sleep in a tourbus all night... So, yeah, this is my guilty little iPod pleasure..." Quincy Jones - 'Soul Bossa Nova' - from the "Austin Powers" soundtrack Sue: "This is a great one to listen to matter where you are. It's a good pick-me-up, "put a smile on your face" song that makes you feel your life is fabulous. I'm known to break into the dance moves mid-stride. People in cars driving by probably think, "What's going on with that girl - she's insane!" I listened to it while I was walking around Paris in April during our tour. It made me feel like I was inside a movie - this groovy music in my head and all around me was incredible architecture, Parisians on park benches, classical statues everywhere...it felt too good to be true." "I have a bunch of good workout songs on here- U2's 'Mysterious Ways',Steppenwolf's 'Born To Be Wild',and 'Magic Carpet Ride'...Stevie Wonder's 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours',Otis Redding's 'Hard To Handle'..." Dave Brubek - 'Take Five' "Great for when you want to feel good and groovy and oh so beatnik. Other ones of his I love are, ' Blue Rondo A La Turk'and 'Three To Get Ready' they always put me in an awesome mood...great for entertaining..." Left Banke's 'Pretty Ballerina' "Perfect "rainy day" music... my other favorite in this category is Simon and Garfunkel's 'Only Living Boy In New York' ...it's just so atmospheric." Counting Crows/Vanessa Carlton - 'Big Yellow Taxi' "This is a cover of one of my favorite Joni Mitchell songs, very good for the morning walk. Adam's voice sounds amazing! I've also been listening a lot to  'Steve McQueen', and 'Abilene' from Sheryl Crow's new album "C'mon, C'mon" , and also the  Dixie Chicks' album 'Home'... "I have an eclectic playlist that includes classics like Bobby Gentry's 'Ode To Billie Joe' , Harry Nilsson's 'Everybody's Talkin' from "Midnight Cowboy", Led Zeppelin's 'Ramble On' - an amazing song... the Bobby Fuller Four's 'I Fought The Law', and 'Let Her Dance'..." I can always count on music to make me happy! Big thanks to my husband for giving me an IPod for my birthday!"
