At long last, Rodney Bingenheimer - original Banglesupporter and "Mayor Of The Sunset Strip" - will be receiving his own star on Hollywood Boulevard's Walk Of Fame this Friday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m.

The exact address of the ceremony is 7021 Hollywood Blvd, and the event will feature suprise guests including the Bangles who have the honor of speaking at the Presentation Ceremony!

Following the Walk Of Fame Presentation Ceremony, Rodney will be honored with a concert at the Henry Fonda Theater at 8 PM featuring The Nymphs, Channel 3, Redd Kross, AND The Donnas. Tickets are a mere $10.67 and are available NOW thru Ticketmaster.

For those rare few who don't know Rodney's story - he's KROQ radio's longtime star DJ, former owner of the seminal LA nightspot 'Rodney Bingenheimer's English Disco,' and star of the recent documentary Mayor of the Sunset Strip, which chronicles his nearly 50 years as a the lightning rod for the discovery and promotion of many of the industry's best bands, from the Arctic Monkeys to the Zutons, and including The Runaways, Blondie, The Ramones, Van Halen, Duran Duran, Oasis, The Donnas, No Doubt, Coldplay, Dramarama, Nirvana, Jesus and Mary Chain, Franz Ferdinand, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Strokes, the Killers, the Clash, David Bowie, and of course, The Bangles - just to name a few.

In addition, Rodney was pivotal in getting stars on the Walk Of Fame for artists including Duran Duran, Annette Funicello and the Monkees.

For the past two years Rodney's fans and industry supporters have relentlessly petitioned to get his star on Hollywood Blvd, including the mounting of a benefit show hosted by KROQ morning shock jocks Kevin and Bean and featuring past Rodney finds including Deborah Harry, Joan Jett and John Doe of X. 

Finally, on June 23 2006, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce board of directors announced that Rodney would indeed be honored as he deserves with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Attendance at the ceremony is free (but come early to get a good spot!), so be there with the Bangles and many more of Rodney's friends and fans this friday March 9th, to witness an unforgettable moment in rock history.
