VICKI SHARES THE SKINNY ABOUT THE BANGLES FIRST-EVER CONCERT DVD!
The Bangles are very pleased to announce the U.S. release on August 14, 2007 of their first-ever live concert DVD, Return to Bangleonia - recorded live at Hollywood's House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in 2000 with the original lineup of Debbi Peterson (Vocals/Drums), Michael Steele (Vocals/Bass), Susanna Hoffs (Vocals/Guitar), and Vicki Peterson (Vocals/Lead Guitar).
"We know it's an older performance, and that some people have various versions and bootlegs of it" says Vicki, "but we felt it was an important time to archive officially. The year 2000 was the re-emergence of the band, and playing a club on the Sunset Strip felt like a homecoming."
"We were trying out new songs, songs which ended up on Doll Revolution - albeit with slightly different arrangements - and finding new ways to play the old ones, which is a favorite game of ours. We were genuinely excited, newly hopeful, and quite happy to be there that night."
The 18 tracks on Return to Bangleonia range from Number One singles including 'Walk Like An Egyptian' and 'Eternal Flame' to early fan favorites like 'Hero Takes A Fall.' Extras include acoustic performances of 'Ride The Ride' and 'Manic Monday,' as well as a DVD commentary track, an on-camera interview with the band about their storied history, and a photo gallery with rare and never-before-seen photos.
"We hooked up with Shout!Factory to do this because they are very good at this sort of thing, and they're nice people" says Vicki. "We took some trouble to find rare photos for the photo gallery, and recorded what I fear is an embarrassing and slightly incriminating - but possibly funny - commentary that runs the full length of the show."
